Compact Backpack Laser Cleaner TLPCB-1000W-1010-220V

Mobile laser cleaning of metal works where a stationary machine has no access

Why a backpack laser cleaner is a separate class of equipment

A compact backpack laser cleaner is a portable pulsed laser system whose entire housing is worn on the operator's back, with the surface treatment performed through a flexible optical cable and a portable laser gun. This design turns laser cleaning from a stationary operation of "bringing the part to the machine" into a mobile operation of "bringing the machine to the part."

The main advantage of a backpack laser cleaner is mobility — the ability to work where it is physically impossible to bring a stationary machine: at height, inside structures, on a remote site, or on large, immovable equipment. It is not a scaled-down copy of a stationary laser but a distinct class of equipment engineered specifically to move with the operator.

The tasks a backpack laser handles are identical to those of stationary laser cleaning — removing rust, old paint, oxides, and carbon deposits from metal surfaces — but performed in a mobile format, without dismantling the part or being tied to a single workstation in the shop.

How laser cleaning works

The principle of pulsed laser ablation

The backpack laser cleaner is built around a pulsed fiber laser source that generates short but energy-dense light pulses. Unlike continuous-wave (CW) radiation used for welding and cutting, the pulsed mode allows precise, controlled action on contamination without significantly heating the base metal itself.

A layer of rust, old paint, oxides, or carbon deposits absorbs the energy of a laser pulse far faster and more intensely than the clean metal underneath. In a fraction of a second, the contamination heats up sharply, expands, and breaks apart into tiny particles that separate from the surface — a process known as laser ablation. The base metal remains virtually untouched, since the short pulse duration prevents heat from penetrating deeper than the contaminated surface layer.

Wearable design: housing on the operator's back

The entire laser source, electronic control unit, and support systems are housed in a single unit worn on the operator's back like a backpack. A flexible optical cable connects the source to a portable laser gun, which the operator uses to treat the surface directly. This design frees the operator's hands from the weight of the laser source and allows free movement around the part, changing the angle and height of treatment without carrying bulky equipment.

Air cooling for mobile operation

The backpack laser cleaner is equipped with an air-cooling system for the laser source, eliminating the need for a water circuit, coolant tanks, or additional hoses. For wearable equipment, this is essential: air cooling reduces overall weight and design complexity while simplifying operation directly on a remote site with no access to a water supply.

Technical features of the Titan Laser backpack cleaner series

Pulsed fiber source Titan Laser

At the core of the equipment is a proprietary fiber laser source, Titan Laser, operating in pulsed mode. The fiber architecture of the source ensures stable radiation parameters, energy efficiency, and predictable beam behavior throughout the equipment's service life.

Electronic control and display

The backpack laser cleaner is controlled through an electronic system with its own display, showing the operating parameters of the cleaning process. This allows the operator to monitor the process in real time, promptly adjusting settings for the specific type of contamination and part material.

Power range and treatment area

The Titan Technics backpack laser lineup includes models with power output from 50 to 1000 W and various treatment area sizes. Lower-power models are suited to light and moderate contamination on compact areas, while higher-power models handle intensive cleaning of large surfaces and dense layers of rust, carbon deposits, or multi-layer paint in fewer passes.

Power supply and operating conditions

The backpack laser cleaner connects to a standard 220 V mains supply, eliminating the need for a separate three-phase power line on a remote site. The multilingual control interface simplifies operation, while the medium repairability of the design offers a reasonable balance between ease of maintenance and the compactness of the wearable housing.

Why choose a backpack laser cleaner

Mobility where a stationary machine cannot help

The main advantage of a backpack laser cleaner is the ability to reach places where it is physically impossible to bring stationary equipment: elevated structures, the inside of pipelines and tanks, large immovable objects, or a remote site without access to shop infrastructure. The operator moves with the source on their back rather than bringing the part to the machine.

The same cleaning result as stationary equipment

Despite its compact, mobile design, the backpack laser cleaner handles the same tasks as stationary laser cleaning systems: removing rust, old paint, oxides, and carbon deposits from metal surfaces with the same precision and selective action on contamination, without damaging the base material.

No abrasives, chemicals, or consumables

Laser cleaning requires no sandblasting abrasive, chemical solvents, or brush attachments — a particularly valuable feature in a mobile format, as it removes the need to transport additional consumables to the site and arrange for their disposal afterward.

Applications of the backpack laser cleaner

The wearable design of the backpack laser cleaner makes it a convenient tool wherever laser cleaning needs to be brought directly to the object:

• Cleaning large metal structures, bridges, supports, and stationary equipment on site
• Removing rust and old paint from ship hulls, tanks, reservoirs, and pipelines
• Surface preparation before welding or painting directly at the installation site
• Restoration work on metal elements of historical structures
• On-site servicing of industrial equipment that cannot be dismantled and transported to a workshop
• Cleaning parts and assemblies at remote, hard-to-reach, or temporary production sites

Ukrainian manufacturer for professional cleaning

Why Titan Technics

Titan Technics is a manufacturer that designs laser equipment for the real-world needs of Ukrainian businesses rather than selling ready-made "boxes for keywords." The Titan Laser engineering team designs and builds backpack laser cleaners as working tools for on-site and mobile metal cleaning tasks.

The company provides an official manufacturer's warranty, technical support, and in-country service, so equipment owners can be confident in its reliability throughout its entire service life.

Frequently asked questions about backpack laser cleaners

How is a backpack laser cleaner different from a regular compact laser cleaner?

A backpack laser cleaner is fully wearable: the entire source housing is worn on the operator's back, allowing free movement and on-site work without a stationary equipment setup.

What kind of contamination does a backpack laser cleaner remove?

Rust, old paint, oxides, and carbon deposits from metal surfaces — the same types of contamination handled by stationary laser cleaning systems, but in a mobile format.

Are any consumables required for operation?

No, laser cleaning requires no abrasive, chemical solvents, or brush attachments — the action on contamination comes solely from the laser radiation.

What warranty applies to the equipment?

The Titan Laser series backpack cleaners come with a 12-month manufacturer's warranty.
